Founder & Executive Director, Marian Bonte International
Marian Ayi-Bonte is the visionary founder of Marian Bonte International, a Ghana-based non-governmental organization dedicated to improving the psychological and emotional well-being of children and marginalized communities. With a deep passion for social impact and a strong academic foundation in human behavior, Marian brings a unique blend of experience from the corporate, academic, and humanitarian sectors.
She earned her undergraduate degree in Psychology and Sociology from the University of Ghana, equipping her with a strong understanding of individual and social dynamics. Marian spent over a decade in the banking industry, where she developed a keen sense of leadership, strategy, and organizational development.
After 12 years in banking, Marian took a bold step—taking a career break to reconnect with her passion for mental health advocacy and community development. During this period of reflection and growth, she founded Marian Bonte International, driven by a calling to serve individuals—particularly children and those from minority or marginalized backgrounds—who often lack access to psychological care and emotional support.
In pursuit of deeper expertise, Marian later enrolled in the Master of Social Work program at the Catholic University of America, where she focused on clinical practice, trauma-informed care, and community-based interventions.
Her work is grounded in empathy, evidence-based practice, and a commitment to breaking the stigma surrounding mental health in African communities. Marian continues to lead Marian Bonte International with integrity, compassion, and a relentless drive to ensure that every individual has the support they need to thrive emotionally and mentally.
